Overview

QuillPDF (quillpdf.com) is operated by Purple Directive. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

How We Process Your Files

• All 11 PDF tools (Merge PDF, Split PDF, Compress PDF, Clean PDF Metadata, Redact PDF, PDF to Image, Image to PDF, Rotate PDF, Watermark PDF, Bates Numbering, OCR PDF) process files entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. Your files are never uploaded to our servers for these operations.
• Files are held in browser memory only for the duration of the operation and are released immediately after processing completes.
• We never store your documents on disk, in a database, or in any persistent storage.
• The pdfjs worker (used for PDF rendering in the workspace and PDF-to-image tool) is served from our own domain. We do not fetch it from a third-party CDN, so no other company learns which documents you open.
• QuillPDF does not silently strip passwords from password-protected PDFs. If you upload an encrypted PDF, we show an error asking you to remove the password in your PDF reader first.

Cookies and Tracking

QuillPDF does not set tracking cookies and does not embed third-party advertising or analytics scripts. There are currently no user accounts. Usage gating is done via browser localStorage, which never leaves your device.

Payment Data

QuillPDF is free and processes no payments — there is no paid tier and no checkout. Optional donations are handled entirely by an external platform (e.g. GitHub Sponsors); we never see or store your card details. If that ever changes, this section will be updated first.

Data We Collect

• Account information: No user accounts exist today. This will change if and when accounts are introduced.
• Usage data: We run a first-party, counter-only page analytic: for each UTC day, hits per page route, distribution by country, and a distinct-visitor count, kept in a single JSON file on our own server. No third-party analytics, no cookies, and Do Not Track is honoured. Full detail on our Transparency page.
• Server logs:QuillPDF runs on our own self-hosted server, fronted by Cloudflare as a DNS proxy. Cloudflare's edge may record standard request metadata (timestamp, IP, status code) per their own privacy policy. Beyond the aggregate counter above, we do not run a separate application-log pipeline.

Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Since we do not store your documents, there is no document data to delete.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on our website. Continued use of QuillPDF after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
