QuillPDF (quillpdf.com) is operated by Purple Directive LLC. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

How We Process Your Files

  • PDF tools (merge, split, compress, rotate, watermark, convert) process files entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. Your files are never uploaded to our servers for these operations.
  • Files are held in browser memory only for the duration of the operation and are released immediately after processing completes.
  • We never store your documents on disk, in a database, or in any persistent storage.

AI Features

When you use AI-powered features (rewrite, translate, summarize, or chat), the text content of your document may be sent to AWS Bedrock for processing. This is necessary to perform the AI operation you requested. However:

  • Document text is transmitted securely over HTTPS and processed in real time.
  • We do not store your document content after the AI operation completes.
  • AWS Bedrock does not use your data to train or improve its models.

Cookies and Tracking

We do not use tracking cookies for basic PDF tools. If you create an account or subscribe to Pro, we use a minimal session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

Payment Data

All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We never see, store, or have access to your full credit card number. Stripe's privacy policy governs how your payment information is handled.

Data We Collect

  • Account information: If you sign up, we collect your email address to manage your account and subscription.
  • Usage data: We collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics (e.g., which tools are used most often) to improve the service. This data cannot identify individual users.
  • Server logs: Standard web server logs may include IP addresses and are retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging purposes.

Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Since we do not store your documents, there is no document data to delete.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on our website. Continued use of QuillPDF after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
