QuillPDF

Terms of Use

Last updated: May 21, 2026

Short version: QuillPDF is a free, open-beta PDF tool operated by Purple Directive (operated by Tyrian Murex). Use it for lawful purposes, don't abuse it, don't put Protected Health Information through it, and accept that it comes with no warranty and no SLA. If you don't like it, close the tab — there's nothing to cancel.

1. What this service is

QuillPDF is a set of PDF tools that run entirely in your browser. See /transparency for the exact list of what runs where. See /privacy for what data we collect.

2. Acceptable use

By using QuillPDF you agree not to:

  • Use it to process content you don't have the legal right to process.
  • Upload Protected Health Information (PHI), Payment Card Industry (PCI) data, or anything else subject to a legal framework that requires a Business Associate Agreement or equivalent. QuillPDF is not covered by a BAA and is not a HIPAA-compliant service.
  • Attempt to break the service or interfere with any security control.

3. Your content

You own whatever you put into QuillPDF. We do not claim any rights to your files. All tools run in your browser; your file never leaves your device.

4. No warranty, no SLA

QuillPDF is provided “as is” during open beta. We make no warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee uptime, processing accuracy, or data preservation. If a tool corrupts a file, we are sorry — keep backups of anything important.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Purple Directive (operated by Tyrian Murex) is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of QuillPDF. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you have paid us in the last twelve months — during beta, that amount is zero.

5. Pricing and “Pro”

Everything is free during open beta. The pricing page describes an indicative future Pro tier; it is not live. Nothing is being charged, there is no auto-renewal, and no payment method is stored.

6. Changes

We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will also be called out on /transparency.

7. Contact
