What this does: finds the pages that are scans (pages that already have real text are left untouched), renders each one, recognizes the text with Tesseract, and embeds an invisible text layer aligned to the image. The PDF looks identical but becomes searchable and selectable. All of it runs locally — nothing is sent to a server.
