How do I convert a PDF to Word (DOCX) without uploading it?

Is the Word document editable, or just a picture of the PDF?
Editable. Headings become Word headings, bullets become Word bullets, tables become Word tables you can edit cell by cell, and images are placed where they were. It is not a pixel-perfect clone: fonts and colours are not carried over and multi-column layouts are flattened into reading order. If you need the page to look identical, keep the PDF.
Can it convert a scanned PDF to Word?
Yes. Choose "Recognize text (OCR)" and scanned pages go through the same in-browser OCR engine as the OCR tool first, then come out as editable text. OCR is only as good as the scan — low-confidence words are dropped rather than guessed.
